Children’s book creator Judith Rossell lives in Melbourne, Australia, with a cat the size of a walrus!

She has written 13 books and illustrated more than 80. 

Her books have also been published in the UK and the USA, and have been translated into nearly 20 languages.
On Sunday we will be promoting her latest book, Wormwood Mire, the second in her Stella Montgomery Intrigue series.
The first title in this series, Withering by Sea, has won many accolades and awards including: the 2015 Indi Book Award for Children and YA; the 2015 ABIA Award for older children; and honour book in the 2015 Children's Book Council of Australia's Book of the the Awards.

In April, Jude will be a guest presenter at the Wheeler Centre in Melbourne, part of a new series of events for kids - Wheeler Kids where 'kids plus books and writing equals fun!' 
 
We'll be promoting both titles in the Stella Montgomery series, Withering by Sea and Wormwood Mire on Sunday.  Books will be available for sale at $22.99. 
Jude has chosen one image from each of these books to have printed as limited edtion giclee prints. 
These delightful prints will be on display and for sale $90 each.

Books Illustrated touring exhibition
Exhibition title: Are we there Yet?

Books Illustrated has been touring this exhibition for several years, and true to the theme of this classic Australian picture book by Alison Lester, it has travelled far and wide in Australia.

This exhibition showcases the original illustrations by Alison Lester for Are we there Yet? along with her preliminary work for the making of this book. It includes her ideas and sketches, page roughs and dummy books, her children's travel journals, family photographs taken on their journey around Australia - and the all important illustrated map of their journey!

Illustration Inspiration

Maree Coote of Melbournestyle publishing has for several years been creating inspirational books that make links between text, art and design and stretch the imagination beyond these areas.

We are thrilled that Maree has been has been honoured with a SPECIAL COMMENDATION in the 2017 Bologna Ragazzi Children's International Picture Book Awards in Bologna Italy for her book SPELLBOUND.
This year, she is the only Australian publisher to have been honoured in these awards which 
are highly prestigious in the world of children's books, illustration, design and publishing.

Her book ALPHABET CITY ZOO: MAKING PICTURES WITH THE A-B-C has also been honoured with a DISTINCTION in the 2017 NAMI ISLAND Children's International Picture Book Awards in South Korea. 

Both these books will feature in the Hello! from Australia promotional exhibtion and catalogue at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in Italy in April this year.
