ANZAC Illustrated
There are many wonderful Australian picture books that have been created
over the last couple of years to focus not only on the anniversary of
ANZAC, but on war in particular. And there are books for all ages. We
don't want to glorify this subject but do believe it's an important
theme that needs to be explored for the past, the present and the
future.
We've created a list of books we have in stock which can be downloaded from the home page of our website. Many are signed by the illustrators and some by the authors also.
10% discount is offered to school and educational institutions.

In March, we were so pleased to have been invited to attend the
Melbourne opening of Jeannie Baker's exhibition of her illustrations for
her latest picture book, Circle.
As usual with Jeannie's work, the subject matter for her book is
researched and presented with amazing accuracy and detail.
The story follows the 11,000 kilometre migration of the Bar-tailed
Godwit (Limosa lapponica baueri). It is the longest unbroken
migration of any animal - travelling from Australia through
Southeast Asia to its Alaskan breeding grounds and then back to
Australia.
Jeannie has become so well-known, both in Australia and
internationally, for her unique 3-dimensional illustration
technique. Jeannie's body of work has resulted in her nomination this
year for the prestigeous international Hans Christian Andersen Award.
This is an exhibition that is well worth experiencing!
At Domain House at The Royal Botanic Gardens until May 14
Signed copies of Circle are available - order here
