Hello! from Australia at the Bologna Book Fair 2018 - March 26 to 29
The 2018 Hello! from Australia, represented over 30 Australian publishers and 170 authors & illustrators.
Funding from the Australian Government Department of Communication and the Arts, and administered by Allen & Unwin, ensured that the size of the Australian Collective stand could be increased for the 2018 Book Fair and that this size can be continued until 2020.
The Hello! from Australia stand - in a great new position this year!
This year, in addition to the promotion of new books and rights sales for publishers, Books Illustrated instigated a focus on Australian indigenous publishing for children, celebrating the interest and growth in this area right across the publishing industry. The image we selected to link in with this focus was by Lisa Kennedy from ‘Welcome to Country’
published by Walker Books.
There were many positive comments about this image and the branding of the stand.
Magabala Books & The Indigenous Literary Foundation, two important publishers of Australian Indigenous books for children attended the fair.
